The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) in conjunction with Tallahassee State College (TSC) has created the Career Education Teacher Alternative Certificate (CETAC) program.
CETAC has been specifically designed for newly hired Career and Technical Education teachers that are teaching within the FDC system. These courses consider the unique educational environment that you are teaching in. The program has been structured to provide resources and learning examples of how to teach and excel within a FDC setting.
In order to obtain your permanent Department issued Teaching Certificate, you are required to take an introductory course and five additional CETAC courses.
You will be required to take the Introductory course first. This course will help you get the hang of navigating the courses and will help to answer a lot of questions. The second required course is entitled Adult Learning Theory for Correctional Educators. After that, it does not matter the order you take the remaining four classes.
