The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) in conjunction with Tallahassee State College (TSC) has created the Continuing Education Courses for Certified Teachers (CECCT) program. This continuing education program allows current FDC educators to maintain and renew their teaching certificate.
The CECCT program is tailored for certified FDC correctional teachers, designed to provide them with ongoing professional development while also enhancing their teaching skills, and keeping them up to date with current practice and FDC procedures. CECCT provides a flexible learning environment (online learning, 24/7/365) that is self-paced, and convenient for the working professional FDC teacher.
These CECCT courses consider the unique educational environment that teachers are instructing in and have been structured to provide resources and learning examples of how to teach and excel within a FDC setting.
In order to take a CECCT course learners are required to take an introductory course to the CECCT program. This course will help learners get the hang of navigating the courses and will help to answer a lot of questions. Once the introductory course has been successfully completed learners can take any CECCT course that the Central Office has approved them for.
